At its I/O developer conference on Thursday, Google unveiled the new Google Photos with unlimited storage and next Android OS Android M. The next OS is based on the security and improving the core user experience., no new changes in UI. So in simple word we can say the next version is based on the hundreds of improvements to offer better user experience.
As per the company statement, These are the six important things that Android M concentrates on – App Permissions, Web Experience, App Links, Mobile Payments, Fingerprint Support, Power & Charging.
App Permissions:- Now google will allow you to select which apps can access you devices, you can easily set the app permissions on the device. Now In Android M, You can change the permissions once the app has been installed on your device, not only this you can also check which apps are accessing your device.
Web Experience:- Another new feature that Google Added to the M. This feature allows applications to have the Chrome browser run atop their app whenever the user clicks on a link. With this feature any app Links will let you open links directly within an app, instead of choosing which app you want to use when you click a link. HT enew feature called custom Tabs and also supports things like automatic sign-in, saved passwords and autofill.
Mobile Payments:- Android Pay is Google’s new mobile payments and the competitor of Apple’s mobile payment. With this new feature user can easily pay using their NFC-based smartphone at supported stores. As per the Google the new Payment feature works on 700,000 stores in the US and it’ll also work with Visa, MasterCard, AmEx and Discover cards.
Fingerprint Support:- Now the next OS is powered with Fingerprint Support, which allows you to unlock the device and also helps them to confirm a purchase with their fingerprint.
Power & Charging:-Android M makes added a new function known as Doze to improve device standby time. Which will use the device sensors to identify when the device is not in use and puts the device in deeper sleep and thus reduce battery consumption at the cost of app freshness.
Android M also supports USB Type-C which provides faster charging, and lets users charge other devices with their phone.
Android M Developer preview will be available for Nexus 5, 6, 9 and Player starting today. Stable release will be available in Q3 2015
